Have you ever wanted to just get away with a group of like-minded crafters on a weekend to spend a whole weekend scrapbooking? Come along and join us on one of our weekends away, scrapping and working on your papercraft and off the page projects at great venues with delicious food, comfortable and affordable accommodation and lots of laughs from fellow crafters. All venues are in the South East Queensland area.
The next Retreat is scheduled for 29 April to 2 May 2011 at Kilcoy commencing on Friday afternoon at 5pm through to Monday afternoon at 2pm. 2 day packages are also available.

Our guest artist for this Retreat is Michelle Jamieson who will be teaching one of her amazing layouts on Saturday morning. Michelle has been published in Scrapbooking Memories magazine as a Scrapbooking Master and is a member of several design teams. Michelle’s class & kit are included in the cost of the weekend.

Workshop and product demonstrations/promotions are conducted over the weekend, learning new techniques and gaining heaps of ideas and inspiration. There will be Challenges with great prizes to be earned by the winners; lucky door prizes, raffles and a few surprises. A generous scrap pack is distributed upon your arrival and includes Challenge materials. A shop is available to purchase your basic supplies. Pamper packages also available should you want to take a break from scrapping...and why wouldn’t you...we all love to be pampered!

We are pleased to announce a new 2011 call for design team members for DownUnder Direct Wholesale.

Our design colleagues will have the privilege of not just designing with any scrapbook item but will partner with the industry’s leading quality and superior products.

These will include the Pinnacle Brands of Bazzill Basics Paper, Spellbinders, Swarovski, and JustRite stamps.

Please read the following information to apply for this design call or pass this onto anyone who you feel would be suitable to submit design work to us.

Round One Feb 25th 2011 (extended)

When will the selection be announced:
March 16th 2011

What is the criteria to enter:
Have your own blog to showcase work – (see below this section)
Be computer savvy to be able to upload to our blog if necessary training provided-(see below this section)
DON’T need to have had your work published
All submissions must be your own original work.
Although the above is a crucial requirement one Member will also be chosen where we don’t need you to have any blog, your work not published or have any “recognition” of the beautiful work you do. We will simply want to give you an opportunity to “shine” with us.
You may NOT own a profit/trading craft business however you can be an employee in the industry. This is purely design only.

What will be the workload requirement for the winning members:
Must be able to produce 2 x cards, 2 x layouts and 1 x OTP each month
Plus One tutorial every two months.
(If you are selected for just cardmaking or layouts only ..then the
requirement will be 4 x cards OR 4 x layouts per month plus the OTP and tutorial)

How do I submit my designs:
Via email only with images not larger then 2MB each image.

How many samples of my work do I send:
Please send us four items: 2 x card samples 2 x layout samples.

How many rounds will be involved in the design call:
Two ..possibly three
What are the prizes for the winning members:
A prize package containing Bazzill Basics Paper
Spellbinder and Justrite products to the retail value of $100

All submissions will be viewed and judged with the following criteria:
Design appeal
Overall quality and elegance.
Good use and representation of the products we sell.
Your ability to communicate to consumers in the blog world.

Is there a theme to follow for submission:
No… round one is simply samples of your work for us to choose you to move to round two.
If you qualify to round two we will then begin to ask for specifics.

How long will I be required to work on the team:
12 months

Do I need to submit anything else other then my work:
Yes. Please include in your submission a short reason why you feel you would like to be on our team.

Will there be any other work involved:
Yes you MAY be asked to design work for our product advertisements if required.

Will I be reporting directly to DownUnder Direct or will there be a team co-ordinator:
Yes you will be required to report to a team co-ordinator.
