“Your Place in the Sun” – a free 12 month workshop on Scrap Beginnings
Have you ever wanted to put together an album about that special place in your heart you call home but didn’t really know where to start? Would you like to record the things you see and the places you go regularly within your community but have always taken for granted as they are just part of everyday life? Would you like to see the wider picture of how we fit into where we live and how exactly we interact with the people around us who share the same common ground as we do on a daily basis?
Then please join me in on Scrap Beginnings for a free 12-month class called “Your Place in the Sun” where you will explore your own community, be it in the rural countryside, urban suburbs or high-density city living. You will soon discover a deeper understanding of the area in which you live by looking at familiar sites with new eyes. We will look at the history of your community, its attractions and its facilities through monthly extensive pdf downloads loaded with prompts and ideas. Each month will focus on a different topic (or topics) and include inspirational layouts, sketch bundles with digital templates to download, interesting facts and a series of challenges to get you started. There will be monthly prizes up for grabs and a gallery for you to share all your work. At the end of the year I hope you will have a wonderful album of completed layouts to record your life in your own community. Not only will you have a very special project to share with your family but you will have learnt new things about yourself, your neighbourhood and also about your fellow class members and the places they call home.

Sassy Lil’ Sketches Feb-July 2011 Design Team Call
Sassy Lil’ Sketches is a growing sketch and scrapping community. We are looking for fun, creative layout designers and card makers to join our design team. The term will run for six months, February through July 2011.
We welcome anyone to try out! Design Team experience not required.
Please send your DT application to sassylilsketches@gmail.com with the following:
Let us know if you are applying for the layout or card design team in the subject line. Please pick one.
Your first & last name and geographic location.
Your email address.
Links to your blog, a current gallery, and any forums in which you actively participate.
Any current DT information.
Share a little bit about yourself (this will be your SLS bio if you are chosen for the DT)
One layout or card (based on the DT in which you are applying) based on any Sassy Lil’ Sketch. Sketches can be found on our blog: http://sassylilsketches.blogspot.com/. Be sure to let us know which sketch you used. This DOES NOT need to be a new layout or card.
One layout or card that you feel represents your current style. This DOES not need to be new, just reflective of you.
DT Applications are due by TUESDAY, DEC 21st, 8 P.M. EST.

One layout a month from layout Sassies or two cards a month for card Sassies
Submitting DT work by the due date
Sharing DT work on your blog and any forums in which you participate.
