NEW CALL: Gypsy Rose Paperie's GDT Call

Deadline: Sunday, August 31, 2008

Who doesn’t love the word “free”? It’s one of the best words in the English language.
We’re looking for guest designers to help showcase our pretties, and if you make the cut, you’ll score a free kit! Check out our requirements below for more information.
While we don’t maintain a full-time design team, we do accept guest designers for our quarterly kits. If accepted, you will receive an entire kit to play with. You’re expected to use all products included (it’s ok if you have some leftovers, provided that each product is represented in your artwork) and you will have two weeks to complete your assignments.
The number of assigments we request from you will be extensive because our kits are HUGE, but will vary with each kit. If you are unable to make a committment to the deadline given, please be up front with us! We’ll do what we can to work with you, but it’s easier on everyone if we know ahead of time.

We do require the following of our guest designers:
1. You must have a digital camera, and be proficient enough with it to take clear and focused pictures of your project. You will upload these pictures to us via email (we don’t accept Flickr, Photobucket, or other links to your pictures - please send us the original digital image). If we need to, we will make a request to ship the original project to us at our cost. The project will, of course, be returned to you.
2. You are required to show your work on three major industry websites (giving credit to Gypsy Rose Paperie for kit design). While we don’t claim a partnership or affiliation with anyone, we’ll be happy to provide a specific definition and links to these sites after you’ve accepted a position as a GRP guest designer.
3. If you have a blog, online journal, or other internet communication site, we request that you also publish your work there.
4. While the copyright for your projects is yours alone, we do reserve the right to publish your work on our website, in our online galleries and in our newsletters. We will happily give credit to you, the designer, and link to any websites or blogs you request.
5. We are also happy to provide references and recommendations to any other publications, manufacturers or other industry personnel detailing our positive experiences with you.
6. We know this sounds like a lot of work! Please keep in mind that the kit you receive will have a minimum retail value of $60. This is a TON of product and it’s yours to play with for free. That’s an awesome reason to be a GRP guest designer alone!
If, after reading all of these requirements, you’d still like to be a guest designer, all you have to do is send three examples of your best work to us here at dt@gypsyrosepaperie.com . Don’t forget to include your name, address, phone number and affiliations {other design teams
you’ve served on, past and current; industry websites you frequent; galleries your work may be featured in; blog links; any other information you tink might be pertinent}, plus digital images of your projects. We’ll get back with you within five days from receipt of your email!
{Sidenote: we do not show preference to guest design applicants because of the number of DT’s you currently serve on, number of times you’ve been published or any other accomplishments! If we’re happy with your work and it’s never been seen publicly, we’d still love to have your designs represent GRP! We ask for this information as a “getting-to-know-you” tool only.}

NEW CALL: Bind-it-All's Design Team Call

Saturday, September 13, 2008

Zutter Innovative Products, manufacturers of the Bind-it-All, is looking for their first ever Design Team. Selected artists will be known as the Zutter Zisters and will be asked to participate in a variety of project making during their tenure. Being our first Design Team call, we are looking to fill spots for a six month inaugural period.

To Apply:
1. All submissions are to be forwarded via email to nan@binditall.com.
2.When sending photos of work, please provide them in a lo-res format, or better yet, link to an online gallery or photo sharing site. Please make sure projects to be considered are labeled for our consideration (as there is a limit as to how many items we will consider). A “ZZ” label somewhere in the title should do.
3. We want to see your binding work. Please provide photos of up to five (5) binding projects, using the Bind-it-All and any related Zutter products. We are looking for creativity in all areas, including binding variations, creativity with materials, techniques and artistry, as well as applications for quick, easy and “fun” projects.
4. We also want to see what else you do. Please provide photos of up to three OTHER projects – these can be layouts, altered projects, home décor, cards, etc. that shows off your style.
5. Complete the application found here on our website. The document is in Word format; you are not limited to one page to complete the answers. Our goal is to learn about who you are.

What You Will Do and What You Will Get if Selected:
1. Zutter Zisters/Bind-it-All Design Team members will serve an initial term of six months, with an option for an additional six months to be determined following the inaugural period. Assignment date to begin on or around October 1, 2008.
2. We are not looking for a set number of designers. We anticipate filling a team of 3-6.
3. Selected designers will receive: the new Bind-it-All V2.0, a matching Bag-a-Bind and a R10 Round-it-All, and exposure on our websites, http://www.binditall.com/ and http://www.zutterzisters.com/, and our blog, ww.binditall.blogspot.com.
4. Design Team members will receive a selection of Zutter supplies each quarter, including covers, pages, patterned paper (from our partnering manufacturers) and other supplies to be used for project creation.
5. Design Team members will be asked to create at least three (3) binding projects per month, with photos submitted to be included on our websites, blogs and galleries. A complete list of supplies used, instructions, and any special techniques are to be included with each project. Projects can be layouts, bound books, home décor, etc. Because we are primarily a tool company, the sky is the limit in terms of projects. We do, however prefer to have covers and other base materials be Zutter Innovative Products.
6. We may ask for your projects to be sent in for use in trade shows or other purposes. If this request is made, the items will NOT be returned. Postage will be reimbursed, so save your receipts.
7. Additionally, Design Team members should create projects and submit to national scrapbooking and craft publications on a regular basis. Members will be compensated $50 per published project, upon publication.
8. We may ask Design Team members to contribute to the Bind-it-All blog, to talk about their projects, techniques and scrappy activities.
9. All projects must be submitted with a signed release form stating that the project can be used for Zutter’s promotional purposes. These can be forwarded on a monthly basis with project subsmissions. Forms will be supplied to selected DT members.10. If you have any questions about the submission process, please forward to nan@binditall.com, and we will share answers on the website for all contenders.
Thanks for your interest and keep on Binding!!

NEW CALL: InkaDink Designs Design Team Call

Deadline: Thursday, August 28, 2008

There's a brand new scrapbook forum coming to the web!
And we want you to be apart of all the fun!
We are looking for four members for our design team who will head up the opening of our new site and store. We are searching for talented, passionate and energetic people who LOVE scrapbooking and can really let the creativity flow.
Your responsibilities as a DT member:
To participate on the board, as well as in the monthly challenges. (Pretty much like any other design team call you've ever seen:)) We want you to have FUN. This is not about who can post the most on the board, or upload the most layouts. We are looking for people who are laid back, and can enjoy being apart of our team.
Your DTship will run for a total of six months. There will be two challenges a month, and you must use your own supplies. It's more about exposure and having the experience of belonging to a team than anything else. There will also be monthly product giveaways and DT members are encouraged to participate.
Please email dinkfuente@gmail.com with your short bio, what design teams you're apart of (if any) what scrapbook forums you are currently logged onto, and how long you've been scrapping. Please also send TWO of your favorite layouts, something that really shows your style.
DT Call will end on August 28th. We will post our final decision on our site (which is still in progress) by the 2nd of September.
Good Luck, we can't wait to see your submissions!
